Like my fellow lymies I had been watching with great interest the results people have been getting from visiting Dr Woitzel in Germany and using the Bionic 880. My studies had been endless, days and nights of browsing internet sites, joining in chat forums, trying numerous protocols, bucketfuls of supplements and with some decent results yet always in the past with some sort of relapse.
Let me tell you where I am with lyme Disease. A quick resume, but hope not to bore you!!
I am a Brit who went six years ago on a trip to Florida with my family for a holiday of a lifetime ( A Christmas treat to Disneyland for my kids). As it happened it was the holiday of a lifetime for all the wrong reasons. Yep you guessed it, I got bitten. It was actually bites from big brown ants that got me, but they happened to carry the borrellia bacteria so I contracted Lyme. Didn't know it at the time of course as I had never heard of it, but after returning to England after the Christmas trip I became very ill with a really bad flu and my doctors put it down to a winter cold!!! Anyway the cold got chronic, I ended up feeling like I had been flattened by truck and it took me 6 months of worsening symptoms ranging from chronic fatigue to joint pain, cognitive problems, stomach pains, intolerances, rashes etc etc etc you all know the score, for me to eventually get a diagnosis from a lyme specialist.
I lost my job, my friends, my life basically and eventually after a year of having antibiotics rammed down my throat (making me much worse) I decided the only person who could get me better was me!!
So off I went on a campaign to fight the good fight! I read every book, newspaper article, internet blog I could find and tried every protocol from Salt n Vit C to Marshall. Some with reasonable result but nothing that didnt end up in me having a relapse. The best result I had experienced was using a rife machine and that got me much better for quite some time but nothing seemed to really make the improvement that I felt I needed.
I didnt give up, just kept looking for answers and thanks to the fantastic support I gained on the internet from my fellow lymies I was able to keep my spirits up most of the time. That was until I found out both my 13 year old daughter and my husband had both also got symptoms of lyme. I was absolutely devastated to think that this disease was taking over my family and our lives. That was it the heels were well and truly dug in the ground and I set about finding a 'once and for all answer'.
There are many scams out there which can easily lead sick people cruelly up the garden path so I was very careful with all my investigations, not to be lead into expensive scams that would do more harm than good, especially as my daughter was the most important priority to me.
It took me a long time to realise that beating lyme involves not just one protocol but lots of different methods all being used together collectively. When I grasped that I was half way there. I didn't give up even in the times when I found that finding a real answer was just beginning to look like it was never gonna happen. I even in desperation called upon my spiritual helpers to give me a direction to go in. It must have worked, I found my answer. The Bionic 880 biophoton machine. The more I investigated this machine the more I like it. It took me a long time to pluck up the confidence to do anything about it as I was so frightened of trying yet another protocol and it not working but something inside my gut instinct told me this was a good thing..
I followed with baited breath the bloggers on the internet who had been to Germany and tried the biophoton therapy. I was so impressed I sat working out a budget for myself and my daughter to go first to Germany and jump on the lyme ridding bandwagon, but alas the cost of staying in Germany for three weeks and the cost of treatment was just far beyond my reach. I was gutted at the thought that this could be the answer and I couldn't actually get to achieve my gaol
What could I do to get round it, well I managed to find a therapist in the UK who actually used the Bionic 880. It took me a lot of searching and investigating but I found her in Nottingham England. Thank God, said I!! After speaking with Arianne (my lovely therapist) on the telephone we managed to arrange a first meeting and from that day on I have never looked back.
It was hard at first as she admitted that her experiences with the machine had not been all about treating Lyme disease although she had other lyme patients doing well with the treatment. I knew I had enough knowledge myself about the illness through my own research that I could join forces with her to get a good result. At the same time I managed to find myself a wonderful naturopath based in Cheshire who could offer me a full body scan to see exactly the extent of the lyme and to what extent the lyme had caused other problems in my body. It showed problems with thyroid and adrenals and hormone inbalances etc so I knew that I would have to follow a strict pattern of supplement taking and food elimination along with detox programmes to enable the bionic treatments to work, but I knew this could be the most positive method that I had tried so I was willing to give it a go. One of my major problems was the logistics of travelling to Nottingham which was a 200 mile journey done in a day and after having treatment and then driving home that was a big deal, but it was worth it.
I started my treatments using nosodes for borrellia which I obtained from the pharmacy in Germany. The sessions began in early May 2009 and I had the initial 5 intensive treatments to see how it went. They were hard and the herx reactions were difficult but hey, who said this was easy!
I then took a months break while I spent time using the adrenal and thyroid glandular supplements that my naturopath gave me along with a protocol of other supplements. I also spent the time detoxing my liver, bowel and kidneys. My energy level soared straight up and I managed to be able to step up my visits to the gym. I felt positive that this was the answer.
I then got my daughter started on the protocol and she is now in the cue for further treatments as money, frustratingly, has dictated that we cant all go at once!! The travel costs are not cheap along with the cost of the treatment as well, but saying that my therapist is very fair with her costings and shows great empathy towards her lymie patients which is very much appreciated..
So, that was how I got to know about the Bionic 880 and I am going it alone without the aid of the German doctors but so far so good. It is now October 09 and I have had regular fortnightly sessions with the bionic throughout the summer months, but I have added in the use of adrenal and thyroid treatments by strapping these to my stomach and having a treatment with them before Arianne goes onto treating me with the Lyme treatment. This has given me the best results so far and I have now come a long way. A lot of my original symptoms have gone and I notice now that a lot of symptoms that I have not had since the start of my lyme 6 years ago have reared their ugly head! They do say this disease gradually unfolds in layers. The worst now being the fibromyalgia pain that hurts me the most and seems to be exacerbated by stress. My memory is better and I can now string a full sentence together when I speak to people without getting my words back to front! That's encouraging... Prior to that I think only the under 2's understood me!!!
So far I feel confident that this is the first real result that I have had fighting lyme. I have had three scans with Gaby my lovely naturopath to see how my lyme is decreasing and my viral load has gone down significantly since I started treating. My daughter is going for another scan at the end of this month so I will be able to report back soon on her results and I hope to get a great result in November from my next scan which I feel will show that the borrellia is gone altogether. I now have to start on the co-infections. We will see how it all goes, but from now on I will try to report back on my progress as I am truly impressed with this treatment.
I hope that other British lymies manage to read my blog and if they are interested in this treatment I would be happy to pass on the information of how to get it. I am that impressed by the results so far I have thought my prior knowledge may well go to good use by purchasing the machine and offering the treatments myself. I have been studying nutrition and naturopathy for some time now and once qualified I think I should put the studies to good use by helping other fellow lymies. In the meantime I will continue to make use of the wonderful therapy being given by my new found friend Arianne in Nottingham. She really shows compassion for us lymies and her service goes above and beyond to help her clients. I only hope other people in our predicament find this treatment and take advantage of it. We all deserve to have some happiness and good health and this method heals by nature. For any sceptics out there who criticise but don't actually get proactive, all I can do is quote an old chinese proverb:
"The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it"... Say no more...
